I also noticed what seemed to be patternes to the way the pin falls, for very easy locks the pattern is long,long,long etc, it doesn’t change. But, For easy its normaly short,long..short,long.. Average and harder seem to have more and more complex patterns. Very hard locks have patterns that are to complex to easily learn which is why i switched to the auditory method.

The game offers other methods to pick a lock. Like auto attempt, which is literally exact same feature straight from Morrowind, or you can try cast spell on it to open. Does people’s beloved Skyrim had feature any of these?

Learning to use the console is very useful. I don’t know how many times I have lost items that fall through the ground. Using tcl in console to enable noclip allows you to get any items you lose through the floor and in some cases allows you to find some items you never even knew were there. If you’re willing to cheat there’s a console command for it. However, Dexter’s solution is probably best because cheating makes the game easy.

You’ve landed a hit on bandit from a far with your bow and arrow, because you’re good at firing arrows in this game, not because your character has a high skill of Marksman. I find hobby synonym listening to the tumblers reveals the pattern in which to know when to lock in. Joining guilds or other factions increases the disposition of members of that guild/faction.

By the time you have acces to it at level 20 there are better rings to use. Namely Mundane Ring + Ring of the Iron Fist. The Skeleton Key is rewarded to the Hero after completing Nocturnal’s quest, received from speaking to her at the Shrine of Nocturnal. The Hero must be at least level 10 to activate this quest.
